The iconic Caboose was a specialized car at the end of a train. It provided shelter for the crew, but more importantly, it provided a vantage point to watch for overheating axle bearings, which could fail and derail the train. The crew could also spot other potential hazards, like load shifting or damaged cars.
This little read caboose is authentically reproduced with attention to detail. It too has an important functional role to play: keeping your pencils sharp.
