Description
The quintessential Engineer’s Cap was invented in the early 20th century by Ida and George “Stormy” Kromer. Stormy was a railroad engineer who played baseball semi-professionally. Ida was a successful, expert seamstress. When Stormy lamented that his baseball cap didn’t quite work for wearing in a locomotive, they put their heads together.
The result was the Engineer’s Cap, and it was a hit. Ida used the fabric she had on hand, pinstripe pillow ticking, forever cementing this hat’s unique appearance. Our Engineer’s Cap is a faithful reproduction of Ida and Stormy’s original design.
