VE Exhibit Label 1:
Carroll Shelby, June, 1960, admiring his trophy with the "Trophy Girl," Jan Harrison, a.k.a. Mrs. Carroll Shelby.
Carrol Shelby, driving a Scarab, beat Jim Hall in his Maserati Tipo "Birdcage," while also bettering Hall's CDR track record.
This turned out to be Shelby's last win as a driver. At season's end he announced his retirement from racing while also announcing the reason: he was suffering from a heart ailment.

Jim Hall set the CDR single lap record of 2:12.6, averaging 76.01 mph on Sunday May 8, 1960. Carroll Shelby bettered it in June averaging 77.73 mph in 2:09.68.
