Trolley Tours

Join us on Sat. May 2, 2026 for our Annual Trolley Tour of Downtown Castle Rock.  This year’s tour will highlight the pioneers of Castle Rock and how they started our great Town of Castle Rock.

Ride in comfort as our knowledgeable guides share fascinating history, local legends, and hidden gems along the way. Whether you’re a longtime resident or a first-time visitor, you’ll see our community in a whole new light. These tours are a fun-filled tradition, blending entertainment with education for all ages. Don’t miss your chance to experience the sights, stories, and spirit of our town from the best seat on wheels! Victoria’s Tea

Join us for a delightful afternoon of tea, treats, and togetherness at our Annual Tea Fundraiser on May 16, 2026 from 2pm – 4pm at Kirk Hall 500 Fairgrounds Rd.

Guests will enjoy a variety of teas, savory bites, and sweet confections while supporting the mission of the Castle Rock Historical Society. This cherished tradition brings our community together in a stylish setting, entertainment from The Legendary Ladies; the wildly entertaining women who bring Colorado’s history to life, conversation, friendship, and a shared spirit of giving. Proceeds from the event help sustain our programs and projects throughout the year.

Scavenge the Rock

May is Historic Preservation Month. It’s trolley time!!!

“Scavenge The Rock” is back.  What better way to learn about Castle Rock’s history than to explore Downtown Castle Rock with a scavenger hunt?  Pick up the clue sheets at the Castle Rock Museum between May 1st – May 30th.  Go around town to complete the tasks on the sheet.  Return the sheet to the Castle Rock Museum to receive a gift and you be entered into a drawing to win season passes to the Summer Concert Series and much more.  You have the whole month of May to complete the hunt.  Bring your family, friends, co-workers or do it on your own.  It’s a fun and easy way to learn some history and get to know Castle Rock better.

Downtown Walking Tours

Step back in time with our Downtown History Walking Tours!

The Castle Rock Museum is giving free walking tours of downtown Castle Rock each month from May to September. Tour dates are May 30th, June 27th, July 18th, Aug. 22nd and Sept. 26th The 45-minute tour begins at The Courtyard on Perry Street, 333 Perry St. and concludes at the Castle Rock Museum, 420 Elbert Street.  The tour highlights the history of Castle Rock, its founding pioneers, and its many historic buildings.  Reservations are not required.

Cedar Hill Cemetery Walking Tour

Step back in time and explore the stories etched in stone at our Cedar Hill Cemetery Tour!

Please join us on Sat. Oct. 3, 2026 for a leisurely walk through historic grave sites in Cedar Hill Cemetery.  Cedar Hill was founded in 1875 and is the only cemetery in Castle Rock.  It contains the remains of pioneers significant in the early history of Castle Rock and Douglas County.
