Downtown Walking Tours

Step back in time with our Downtown History Walking Tours!
The Castle Rock Museum is giving free walking tours of downtown Castle Rock each month from May to September. Tour dates are May 30th, June 27th, July 18th, Aug. 22nd and Sept. 26th at 10:30am. The 45-minute tour begins at The Courtyard on Perry Street, 333 Perry St. and concludes at the Castle Rock Museum, 420 Elbert Street. The tour highlights the history of Castle Rock, its founding pioneers, and its many historic buildings. Reservations are not required.
Outdoor Model Train Day

Chug, chug, chug on in to the Castle Rock Museum to see our garden model train. We’ll have the garden train and replicas of Castle Rock historic buildings on display in our backyard. We’ll also have other various sized trains on display for all to enjoy.
Cedar Hill Cemetery Walking Tour
Oct. 3, 2026
Please join us on Sat. Oct. 3, 2026 for a leisurely walk through historic grave sites in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Cedar Hill was founded in 1875 and is the only cemetery in Castle Rock. It contains the remains of pioneers significant in the early history of Castle Rock and Douglas County. The tour begins at 4:00pm. Ghostly Stories and Tragic Tales Walking Tours
Oct. 1st, 7th, 8th, 14th, 21st, 22nd, 28th, 29th 7pm and Oct. 17th & 31st 1pm
“Ghostly Stories and Tragic Tales of Castle Rock 2026”. Join us for a walking tour of Downtown Castle Rock featuring tales of ghostly and tragic events in Castle Rock’s history. Come hear stories of The Rock, The Old Stone Church, The B&B Café, and more. Tours begin and end at the Castle Rock Museum. Please dress for the weather. Santa at the Castle Rock Museum

Ho, Ho, Ho! Here comes Santa Claus to the Castle Rock Museum!
Bring the whole family for a magical afternoon with Santa on Saturday, Dec. 12, 2026, from 1oam – 12pm. Visit with Santa, take your own photos, and enjoy complimentary hot chocolate and cookies while exploring the Castle Rock Museum. It’s a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the holiday season, create lasting memories, and experience the warmth of our community.
